Taft Charter High School is seeking an outstanding community parent representative starting in January of 2026. The role of a community parent representative involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the school community and enhancing student success.
Job Duties
- Attend monthly district community representative meetings
- Attend professional development trainings to stay informed on updates in educational programs.
- Disseminate educational program information to parents, referring them to appropriate school personnel as needed.
- Participate in discussions and workshops to present approved educational program information.
- Organize monthly Coffee with the Principal events.
- Assist with campus tours for prospective parents.
- Assist parents with Schoology and Parent Portal access.
- Promote volunteer opportunities for parents and process volunteer applications.
- Engage in community outreach for program-specific events.
- Collaborate with school personnel to coordinate services for parents and provide additional resources.
- Maintain communication with parents, school staff, and partner organizations.
- Create outreach materials such as flyers, posters, and information briefs.
Work Hours
- 4 hours per day
- 20 hours per week
