Principal’s Message, Vision, & Mission

Principal’s Message
August  1, 2023

I would like to welcome all of you to the Taft Charter High School a California Distinguished School for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. We are excited to continue our commitment to academic excellence to ensure all students are college and career ready.

A new school year brings new opportunities, experiences, and gives us all a fresh new start with endless possibilities. I look forward to a year of innovation around teaching and learning that will enrich the experiences of all our students. Each and every day I am impressed with what our students produce and accomplish and I cannot wait to see what you accomplish during your time at TCHS.

Our vision at TCHS, which serves one of the most diverse student populations in LAUSD, is that we prepare students to meet the challenges of today’s global community through academic achievement, individual growth, and social responsibility.

I truly believe that there is a place for everyone at TCHS. The entire staff and I are committed to support our mission of providing all students with the opportunity to develop their individual passions and talents through innovative programs and instruction that challenge them academically and creatively. This year we will continue the focus on increasing access and use of technology in the classroom and using that technology to enhance instruction. We will also continue to explore new ways to increase communication, continuity and coherence in all of our programs, while providing opportunities for all students to be ready for the world.

I look forward to meeting all of you and supporting you on the exciting journey of high school. Please take advantage of all that Taft has to offer, and I look forward to seeing everyone the first day of classes, August 14, 2023.

Sincerely,

Daniel Steiner, Principal
