On Wednesday evening, May 27, 2026, Taft Charter High School proudly celebrated the incredible accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during our annual Senior Awards Night held in the Senior Quad. Families, staff, students, and community members gathered together to recognize the dedication, perseverance, leadership, scholarship, and service demonstrated by this outstanding graduating class.
The evening honored students receiving academic distinctions, scholarships, department awards, honor society recognition, athletic honors, service awards, and special recognitions. The celebration reflected the remarkable talent and diversity of achievements represented within the senior class.
Throughout the ceremony, students were recognized for earning prestigious scholarships and awards from community organizations, educational foundations, school programs, and local partners. Scholarship recipients included students receiving support through the Friedman and Friends Scholarship, Posse Foundation, Engineers Council Scholarship, Taft PTO Scholarship, Black Scholars Matter Scholarship, and many more.
Students were also honored for exceptional achievement in academics, arts, athletics, leadership, music, theater, world languages, computer science, engineering, and service organizations. Special recognition was given to students earning the California State Seal of Biliteracy and LAUSD Seal of Biliteracy, recognizing multilingual excellence and global achievement.
Additional recognition celebrated students earning Academic Silver and Gold Cords, Superintendent Honor Roll distinctions, perfect attendance honors, and department awards across all academic disciplines.
The event highlighted not only academic excellence, but also the strong character, leadership, creativity, and resilience of the Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of all of our seniors and grateful to the teachers, counselors, administrators, families, and community partners who continue to support our students on their educational journeys.
Congratulations to the Taft Charter High School Class of 2026. Your future is bright, and we cannot wait to see all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
