HOW DO I ENROLL MY CHILD AT TAFT CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL?

If Taft CHS Is Your Resident School, then you register him or her in early spring.  You will not need to turn in an enrollment packet if they are coming from an LAUSD middle school. If your child attended a non-LAUSD middle school, you will need to turn in an enrollment packet that shows proof of the child’s age (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport, etc.) and proof of residence address, i.e., utility bill.

If Taft CHS Is NOT Your Resident School, there are several options through the Unified Enrollment applications at apply.lausd.net.

  • Magnet Schools and Magnet Centers Applications (213) 241-6532 or (877) 462-4798
  • Permits With Transportation (PWT) Application (213) 241-6532 or (877) 462-4798
  • Affiliated Charter Application  (Transportation not provided)

The application period will be open through the Unified Enrollment website at apply.lausd.net in early October for Fall '25-'26 school year.  You will be notified by LAUSD if you have been selected or wait-listed to Taft CHS through the Magnet, Affiliated Charter, or PWT applications.

In addition to the above, the following options are available (in special circumstances) if the desired school has available classroom seats. These options include Intra-District and Inter-District Permits.
