About Me

I am a graduate of Taft High School, class of 1972. I played basketball and golf during my three years there. Upon graduating from Taft, I attended California State University Northridge and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. From there, I continued on to receive my teaching credential in 1978.

I was an itinerant adapted physical education teacher in LAUSD prior to getting hired at Taft in 1990. I have been coaching boys and/or girls basketball at Taft since 1974, even while in college, and took over the golf program in 2024. I was the Athletic Director from 1999 - 2023 and received an award for State Athletic Director of the Year in 2023. I am also the West Valley League Commissioner working with all the schools in our league to make sure all sports are running smoothly.

I met my wife in the ticket booth at Taft while we were selling tickets for a home football game. We have been happily married for 31 years in 2024. I have really enjoyed teaching and coaching at Taft - it's like my second home.
